Braille and Tactile signage

Since the introduction of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA) and the subsequent and prevailing Equality Act 2010 we have seen an ever increasing requirement for the provision of signs incorporating Braille and raised Tactile lettering which cater for the blind and partially sighted. During our period of consultation with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) it was made clear to us the importance that must be placed when considering producing signs for the visually impaired that this should not be to the detriment of the overall aesthetic of the sign itself.  It is for this reason that we developed a sign product using photopolymer which produces very sharp, crisp results.

We produce all graphics and text photographically which means that typefaces and graphics are accurately reproduced, we can advise as to which typefaces are most suitable for the legibility of Tactile lettering along with advice on preferred letter spacing and layout.  We can also provide guidance on the use of colours in order to meet the guidelines preferred by the RNIB.

We are always available to discuss specific projects.
